Additional HSPnet Modules Funded via Round Two of BCAHC's Practice Education Innovation Fund (PEIF)
Thanks to Round Two of the BCAHC's Practice Education Innovation Fund, the following major enhancements for HSPnet development have been announced for release in 2006/07:
Affiliation Agreement Tracker (AAT)
This project will be led by the Practice Education Collaborative of BC (PECbc), a standing committee of representatives from health authorities and educational institutions in BC. Through the AAT module, Placing and Receiving agencies will be able to manage contracts online for shared reference and update by the authorized parties of each agreement. The AAT module will track contract status (draft, awaiting signature, approved), educational programs and receiving sites covered, and approval/expiry dates as appropriate. The actual contract document could also be uploaded in Word or PDF format for ongoing shared access by authorized parties.
e-Orientation for Practice Education (e-OPE)
The HSPnet e-Orientation module will provide tools for creating and managing online content to support orientation of students, faculty and preceptors to their upcoming placements. e-OPE tools will facilitate sharing of orientation resources as “learning objects” that can be developed across health and human service programs and sites. Content will arise from existing orientation materials and/or can be developed from templates against an orientation "table of contents". The resulting templates, plus tools to support collaboration and resource sharing, will improve effectiveness of orientation activities and help to avoid duplication of effort.
